I am excited to share my latest public work; The Cary Saurage Community Arts Center Donor Wall. This project offered my the opportunity to utilize text; developing fonts and working with 70+ donors names, I created a wall-hanging work in earthenware sculpture. Many thanks to Renee Chatelain and Brian Morfitt at the Arts Council for commissioning this project. It has been an honor and opportunity to give back.
I’d also like to thank Nellie Lyons and Heather Beaud for their help in installing the work. and artist Mike Cerv for working on plaster molds. All of your time and willingness to work within tight deadlines was so appreciated!
Preparing to install the final works in the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center in downtown, Baton Rouge, LA this weekend. Stay tuned.
OLOL BATON ROUGE On October 4, 2019, the new Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital opened in Baton Rouge, LA. I was thrilled to be included in The Ann Connelly Gallery's curated roster of artists placed within the hospital. I feel so honored to be a part of this healing environment. OLOL Children's Hospital is an immensely thoughtful place- amazingly designed, a child-and family-friendly space that will provide BR and the surrounding region the highest quality hospital care for decades to come.
Kevin Duffy, my fantastic local photographer here in Baton Rouge produced these pictures of the final commission.
I am so grateful for this opportunity! Thank you Ann Connelly, Chelsea Norris and OLOL Children’s Board for selecting my work.
